Operation: Chronos "It Has Begun"

City of Leboux

Day 09 since re-entry

As expected, the Axis counter-offensive has begun. Instead of chasing three Axis commands to the East, we now find ourselves being pressed by at least six reported Axis commands on three fronts. Among these commands, we are only familiar with the Totenkopf Kampfgruppe and the Endziel. From the available reports, the Endziel zombies seems to fight with more ferocity than they did before, hitting the Basterds earlier today and driving our boys to a retreat.

The other two Axis commands are reportedly called "Kalte Biss" and "The Mongoose". Word from the wire warned us that these commands are headed by the two best Axis commanders this side of Europe. It makes sense, actually, our scouts reported that one of these two commanders recently engaged the SSU and the latter suffered heavy losses.

Of the final two Axis commands, we know little of what they are as we have not yet engaged them in combat and the Recon Boys sent to scout them are yet to return.

My other concern in this operation is that the SSU finally showed its ugly head. In our prior campaign, the SSU fell back even before the fighting began. Were they just waiting to see us all bloodied and worn before deciding to pounce on the weakened victors thereafter? If this is the
case, I have no time to dwell on such petty tactics.  From the reports available, three SSU commands are carving their way through the city.

The first one is called the "Steel Wind", headed by Koshka herself, a pretty small command to be operating in this theater, maybe batallion size. But the reports we had so far tells that this one is putting up a good fight despite its small size. They were able to punch a hole through our northern line and is now reported to have taken a location deep within the city.

The remaining two SSU commands are reportedly called "The Red Dawgs" and  the "Ghosts of Zaitsev". Unfortunately, we know nothing of them other than the fact that they are bringing in Toads.

Thinking of our prospects for tomorrow, I cannot help but shudder. This is a much bigger conflict than the one we had in taking this city. Now, my boys are tired and plans will have to be made and modified ASAP. I guess I will not be sleeping again tonight.
