We just concluded the second Dust Tactics tournament for Post 52. Titled Operation: Gemini, it was meant to welcome newly recruited commanders. We didn't push through as originally intended but it was nothing short of a successful event!

Last Saturday, August 24th, a battle of epic proportions was fought on the very grounds of Glorietta! We took a break from the campaign matches and clashed head to head with each other in a battle that would dwarf the Battle at Helm's Deep! (yeah, pun intended.)

CRUZ CHRONICLES #006 - OPERATION MIDAS PART 1

Approximately 1000H when Ozz and his secret division of elite soldiers landed on the western borders of Leboux, a city in Central Europe. For weeks now the Allied and Axis blocs have been surveying the area, for which a definite reason was yet to be established. Common grunts heard a potential supply of VK was discovered within the city grounds. Officials do not confirm, nor deny, anything though. As for Ozz, his orders were clear; the Allies must seize control of the city at all costs. But there’s another one, another objective he was handed with.

“The Basterds, eh? You Americans and your bloody pet names!” Jackson jokingly uttered on the radio communicator.

“Excuse me? Hey Ozz, please tell me these stinky Brits aren’t joining us here!” replied Rhino almost instantly after hearing Jackson’s signature accent.

CRUZ CHRONICLES SPECIAL - OPERATION MIDAS PART 0

0300H, somewhere in the Western hemisphere, exact coordinates undisclosed. A dark-garbed figure paused for a few seconds in front of a seemingly empty wall of an abandoned structure. After uttering some murmuring sound and touching it with his right palm, the wall opened, without revealing much as the other side was all too dark. The figure stepped forward and was seemingly swallowed in the darkness ahead of him.

As was mentioned yesterday, there is a plan to run a Dust campaign. The objective of this campaign is to encourage guys to play more as our regular games will become part of a campaign and will count to determine the campaign winner.

You could consider this a "fun" campaign. So there are no intended entry fees. Consequently, there are no intended prizes for now. In short, libang-libang lang.

Operation: Midas Launched!

We have launched Operation: Midas, a home-brewed campaign for Dust Tactics and Warfare, spearheaded by our very own, Dax aka Spoonman. The campaign will run for 8 weeks, starting this Saturday, August 17.

Off the bat, we've already seen several scheduled battles and this is just for the launching day of the campaign! Check back here for updates and battle reports.

We’ve recently concluded the first Dust Tactics tournament here in the Philippines and boy, what a blast!

Special thanks to all the players who attended and participated: Jojo, who was crowned Champion, Vic, Best Painted Army Awardee, Dax, Bin, Raven, King and Magic Mike. Thanks to Sir Freddie Tan and the rest of the staff of Neutral Grounds Glorietta branch. And last but definitely not the least, to Paolo Parente!

SUCCESS

SUCCESS! The word kept on echoing at the back of my head, even as I was resting on my bed that night. The night of August 3, 2013, Saturday, which will be left in our history as the date when the First Philippine Dust Tactics Tournament took place!

After hours of play testing and preparing our armies, after days of brainstorming and engaging several key individuals and organizations, after being postponed for a month, it’s done. It’s over. Just like that.

It its official!

We are now Post 52 under the Philippine Front. All our Dust events, Tactics and/or Warfare will be sanctioned by Dust Devils International, the organizing body for all events under Paolo Parente's Dust universe.

Me: Bro, tuloy warfare natin sa sabado? (Bro, are we cool this Saturday?)

Dax: Yup. Sa umaga tayo.(Yup. In the morning.)

Those were our exchange of text messages, scheduling our long overdue Dust Warfare game. Due to some errands and other obligations (yep, our hobby remains a hobby to us), I arrived at the shop a few minutes over lunch time.

July 20^th, Saturday - We’re back to our FLGS, Neutral Grounds Glorietta branch. After a couple hours of nap time and attending to a few husband-daddy duties at home, I arrived at the shop around lunch time.

My good friend Vic was looking to get his Dust fix for not being able to play for 2 consecutive weeks now. Due to venue changes, his originally scheduled battle did not push through. Wanting to try my newly built ‘Elite Platoon’, I obliged to take him on.
